Commitment to overcome, conquer and succeed.

It is far from easy to stick with a workout and nutrition plan. You guys are the exception to the rule, the top !% of people! I know this because I see you sticking to your guns and coming and putting the work in every week. You may be at a place where you are ready to hit the next gear and take your commitment and results to the next level. This is for you.
Set goals- While general goals like get fit and lose weight are very admirable, you will find that they are too broad, be specific and put a deadline on it. Think about smaller goals and how they can help you focus your efforts on a daily, weekly or monthly basis to reach your ultimate goal.
Get others involved- One way to stay committed is to get other people involved. You have some level of this just by being involved in boot camp. Others miss you when you aren’t in class and you know it, so you go even when you don’t feel like it. Take it to another level and tell your friends what your goals and dreams are. This will keep you accountable even when out of class. Don’t have any friends, become my friend on FACEBOOK! J
Track Progress- Keep your commitment to fitness high by keeping track of your accomplishments. How much weight have you lost, how long can you run on a treadmill or how far have you biked? Keeping track of your accomplishments will show you how far you have come, and this is an essential part of staying motivated. Reward progress by doing something nice for yourself when you reach milestones.
Use a food log- Make it easy for yourself. Document your food and activities. You may just be learn some things. I started logging mine recently and found out some surprising things!
I am writing this post to stimulate action. I am about to open up 6-week weigh down. Simple rules, simple guidelines and simple nutrition. I will include a 4 week Quick Start module that will require focus and commitment.
Who’s interested? Enter your comments and we will get this thing going. This isn’t meant to be a competition, just a cohesive, group activity.

PS-In case you want to accomplish something that just isn’t weight related you can work into this activity as well
Monty,
I really miss the boot camp classes and enjoy receiving your blog posts and emails. I’ve lost 9 pounds on my own since December and am fitting back into clothes I haven’t worn in over a year. Your inspiration and routine varieties have kept me inspired and I’ve taken what I’ve learned and applied it to my workouts at home. I have 10 lbs to go and I intend look my best ever on my wedding day! I do continue to struggle with my diet a bit and I know I could be doing some things better. But, I continue to seek information and guidance in this area. Thanks for your continued inspiration and great advice!

Monty – I want to learn more about this 6-week weigh down. It may be just what I need to really focus on the nutrition piece of the equation and see some results before my 21st birthday milestone (heehee) this summer.
I’m with you Monty . . . I’m ready to take mine to the next level and have got to start focusing on nutrition and eating less but better!
I am ready Monty. I really want to get this weight off!!!!!
Can you bring a scale to class?
Oh yes! This would be soooo awesome. If it is anything like what you use to do with us in allowing us to be weighed and monitored with challenging physical test every few weeks then I say yes lets go for it! It’s definitely a challenging way to “bump” it up a notch in staying focused and more accountable in what we eat and working out consistantly. I hope others will want to come aboard because I know this was something that really helped me in the beginning months to stay very serious in meeting my goals. You got my vote. Let’s do it!!!
